Do I hear a Twitter patter??

Like my title? Well for a while now I have been contemplating on creating a Twitter account for Frame Fanatic. Since I plan on starting up a frame-selling business, I figure this would be a great and easy way for people to get updates on upcoming frame designs and what is selling in my etsy shop (which I also plan on starting up soon). So I need your feedback: would you follow me on Twitter? :0)

[Motivational Monday: Mirror Mirror on the Wall]

Have you been wanting to incorporate more mirrors in your home decor? Well, I have. It's amazing what one (or 2, or 3!) mirror can do to a room. It gives any room character and style while still being functional as a way to check for any food between your teeth. :0) It also opens up a small room making it appear larger. If natural light reflects on it, it doubles as another room brightener. I love mirrors! Hope this Motivational Monday inspires you!

[Sometimes one mirror just isn't enough. Arranging an array of several smaller mirrors gives the illusion of bigger wall space and totally adds style along with an eclectic look. I love it how all of the mirrors are round bouncing off a round window. You too can achieve this look by collecting old mirrors in various sizes and displaying them to compliment your decor.]

["Three's Company Too!" Sorry, I immediately thought of that theme song when I saw this photo. But I love how 3 tall mirrors are displayed behind 2 twin beds. Makes the room appear taller. Genius!]

[Now this is a neat idea! You can spice up any old closet door, pantry door, etc. by adding small mirrors to any traditional door. You could have them cut to fit the style of your door. It's different but is definitely a conversation piece.]

[Ahhh...I just adore white rooms...wait, back to the mirror. Placing a mirror close to a window brings a ton of light in. And for some reason I have a fascination for mirrors in dining rooms. I can just picture how a large mirror could reflect the light from a candlelit dinner. So nice...]

Now go out and get you some mirrors! If you incorporate them into your decor, you'll be amazed at the results. Happy Monday! :0)

[Transformation Thursday: Laundry/Craft Room (cont'd.) - Laundry Signs & Pretty Decor]

Since a lot of you were quite interested in my laundry/craft room (thank you all for the sweetest comments!), I thought I might share with you some details about my room that I didn't really go into on my last post about it. To view my laundry/craft room transformation post, click here.

[I bought this laundry sign at Hobby Lobby. I loved it as soon as I saw it and knew it would be perfect for my laundry room. Originally I had it hanging above the door mounted to the wall, but then I noticed the cord that goes to the ipod stereo hanging from the ceiling (oh and my husband installed those outlets himself!). So I figured I would cover it up as much as I could with this sign. After buying a chain, cutting it to the length I wanted, and mounting an s-hook from the ceiling, I have this rustic laundry room decor.]

[I bought this sign at Big Lots (I love that store!). I believe it was 5 bucks. Thought it was cute and went along with the rustic theme.]

[Isn't this just the cutest?! I mean, who could resist a puppy laundry sign? I have a puppy (although he's 2 1/2 now so I guess he's not exactly a puppy anymore), and this reminded me of him always stealing laundry. I have this sign hung on a clothes line above the washer/dryer for now.]

[This was one of many Dollar Store finds. I bought it about 8 years ago and still love it.]

[I got this at Wal-Mart and thought the colors would go perfect on my craft shelf. Plus I love it that I never have to water it!]

[A simple flower in a small vase. I bought the vase from Target for $1. I think it was around Valentine's Day because the other side of it says "love". :0) It sits on a shelf we built above the sink/washer/dryer. I makes me smile.]

Well, that concludes this portion of my laundry/craft room. I have tons more details to share with you (i.e. tin buckets, wire baskets, photo boxes, etc.), but I will discuss those in a later post. So stay tuned for more!

[Motivational Monday: Walk-in Closet]

In my master bedroom closet, we have a rather large walk-in closet. And it desperately needs a makeover. Take a look for yourself:

[Okay, so this is what it looked like when we first bought our home. When I first saw it, I fell head-over-heels in love. I never imagined I would ever have a long walk-in closet. I mean, think of all the shoes I could fill it up with?! It certainly had potential.]

But alas, I really haven't done much with it. Sure we replaced the ugly florescent light with track lighting on a dimmer switch. But other than adding a TON of clothes and shoes along with a chest of drawers and a couple of mirrors, there's not much else to be seen. So I am now on the hunt to find some amazing walk-in closets to motivate me to redo mine.

[I LOVE this closet. Just wish mine was big enough to have an island. Ahh...beautiful. But what has really caught my eye is the old bookstore-like ladder. It rolls around the closet on that top rail to make the top of the closet easily accessible. Talk about vertical storage!]

[Now I know that this looks nothing like my closet, but let's just admire it, shall we? Look at the shelves of shoes, cabinet doors for hanging clothes, that large island, flat screen TV...I could seriously live in this room!]

[This one is much more similar to my closet. I love it that the drawer are at the end of the closet. And the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. Very lovely.]

[And who could forget Carrie's closet on SATC! So fabulous! Oh and p.s., I have NOT seen the new SATC2 movie yet, but I am dying to see it when it comes out on DVD. :0)]

Happy Monday everyone!

[Scrapperday: Christmas in July]

So today I am FINALLY working on the Christmas scrapbook page for my daughters scrapbook. I know what you're thinking..."Christmas was how many months ago??" I know, I'm just now getting around to it...

Anyways, I wanted to share with you the template of the Christmas page I made. Do you ever get into a "scrapbook rut" where you find yourself doing the same layouts/style, etc. for almost every page? Well, I do...a lot! I am hoping this scrapbook layout will inspire you and possibly help you out of your "rut". :0)

[The materials I used are all from the Making Memories Christmas collection (including the die-cut ornament!). I used about 4 layers of patterned paper on the left of the page. Since the collection only had some 8x8 patterned paper, I just cut 2 strips of the paper and adhered them together to make a 12" strip for my 12x12 background sheet. Does that make sense? Now all this page needs is some fun Christmas photos!]

[I got this ribbon at good ol' Walmart when they were selling their Christmas stuff for 75% off. I can't remember how much it cost, but I know it was cheap! Oh and if you look closely, you can see where I glued the 2 strips of paper to make it a 12" strip. Thankfully it's barely noticeable.]

[The perfect place to put a cute little sentiment. I put some 3-D adhesives on the back of the white strip and Christmas trees to make it "pop".]

I will be linking up to these parties.

I hope you all have a fun-filled Scrapperday!

[Transformation Thursday: Laundry/Craft Room]

After much deliberation, I can finally say that I am finished with my laundry/craft room transformation. Well...sort of. I know there will always be more that I may want to add later, but isn't that how it always is? An ongoing progression? So without further adieu, here it is!

[This is the "before" pic of the laundry room the day we signed on the house. Pretty yucky, huh?]

[Before we moved everything in, we decided to rip up the linoleum floor and replace it with some nice laminate. Here is the under lament.]

[And here is half of the laminate laid down. It's looking better so far!]

[Ahh...much better! This is the view as soon as you walk into the laundry/craft room. My framed art was talked about in a previous post here.]

[To the left is the utility sink my husband installed. I would like to add a wrap-around curtain to soften it up a bit. But like I said earlier...progression!]

[Next to the sink is the washer/dryer. We installed the shelf directly above it to hold detergent, fabric softener, etc. We replaced the bar hanging below the top shelf (since I never used it) with a clothes line. I am planning on using it to display lost socks, but for now a picture of my daughter and a laundry sign will just have to do. Notice the numbered jars?? I talked about them in a previous post here. Oh, and do you see that framed chalkboard waaaayyy in the back? I talked about that in a previous post here.]

[Across from the washer/dryer is my "craft area". This is a shelf my husband and I built to hold all of my craft supplies.]

[Below the shelf is a magnetic wall hanging that I can use to display my scrapbook pages, cards, etc. Those magnetic canisters are actually spice jars, but I decided to use them to hold miscellaneous craft embellishments. All of these magnetic products I bought at Ikea.]

[Hidden behind the door are my paper cutters and ALL of my scrapbook paper. I bought those 12x12 file cases from Hobby Lobby. They have been a real space savor!

[The lighting in this room has character of its own. As you saw in the previous photos, I have over-the-shelf lighting and under-the-shelf lighting. And in this photo is a light fixture I bought at Lowe's (with energy efficient light bulbs, of course!). Why so many lights you ask? Well, I believe that a small room with no windows should be well lit. It really opens up the room and makes it appear larger.]

Well, that concludes the majority of this transformation. I will probably be posting more pics as I slowly update the room. But before you go, check out my "leaning tower of ribbon"! :0)

I will be linking this transformation up to these parties. Happy Thursday!

[How-to Tuesday: The EAT Sign]

If you have been following my blog, you will know that I have been wanting to make an "EAT" sign since it has become quite the decorating trend. I talked about it in a previous blog here. I recently updated my dining room with this fabulous "EAT" sign. It was super easy to make! Here's the how-to on making this work of art.

Supplies needed:
~Chipboard letters
~Acrylic paint
~Modge Podge
~Scrapbook paper
~Sponge brush or paint brush

First, paint around all the edges of the chipboard letter. Add more coats as needed. Let it dry.

Next, cut out your letters from your scrapbook paper. Here I used Handmade Designer Paper by K&Company. Apply Modge Podge to the front of the letter and adhere your cut-out. Smooth it out with your fingers to eliminate any bubbles. Let it dry.

Then, apply more Modge Podge to the entire letter to seal the paper more securely onto the chipboard. Let it dry completely.

Lastly, punch a hole in the back of the letter with scissors, a knife, or anything else sharp. This will ensure that it's hung flush on the wall without it sticking out too much. Be sure to not press too hard when making the hole or you could have a giant hole in the front of your letter.

Hang up your letters on a nail, screw, etc., and you're done!

I will be linking up to these parties. Happy Tuesday!
